In November of 2017, I was contacted by the team at Pacific Hyperloop in order to create a branding schematic for their Hyperloop One development pitch.

 

With the Pacific Northwest project being a global semi-finalist chosen from a pool of thousands of candidates, it was essential to create an ident that embodied the spirit of the Northwest while simultaneously providing a pivot foot for what was to come.

 

The notion of connectivity struck me initially – the ability to travel from Seattle to Portland in just 20 minutes provides an unheard-of level of accessibility to both major metropolitan regions. In an effort to represent that connection, I placed each city as a tip of an arc that circumnavigates the “globe” of circular negative space.  The colors are typically representative of the pacific northwest culture, taking inspiration from sports teams, nature, and the general coolness of the region’s climate.
